By day, I’m a child of God, wife, momma, college instructor, dinner-cooker, LipSense lover, and a few things in between.
By night, I’m usually wrapped up on the couch, eating ice cream, watching Friends reruns with my best friend. Dreamy, right?!
I’ m married to my college sweetheart, Ben. He’s a school program coordinator and a coach. He’s my biggest cheerleader, and my drive to be a better version of myself.
We’ve got two kiddos, Boonie (as we affectionately call him), and Rhyan. Parenthood changed my entire life. I am not the person I was before I had kids. When they tell you to enjoy your high school days because those years are the best years of your life, they lie. THIS is where the gold is at.
We recently planted our roots and built a house in my hometown, surrounded by lots of farmland and sweet neighbors. Life is a little slower here, and to say “I love it”, is a bit of an understatement.
I started blogging in 2011, and blogged for two years (formerly at knewlywifed). And then I couldn’t figure out how to pay my domain registration fee, and Google deleted my blog.
I’m tech-savvy like that.
I write because I love to. Six years ago, I was a first time mom who didn’t have the slightest clue what she was doing. And so I wrote about it. And pretty soon, I found out that there were other moms out there who didn’t have a clue what they were doing either! And suddenly, the stars aligned, the unicorns danced, and I felt quasi-normal.
Originally, I blogged about my journey through what I liked to call my ‘rookie years’. I was freshly married and mothering, trying to navigate life in an unfamiliar territory. And while I survived those first few years of early marriage and parenthood, I still very much feel like a rookie in many ways. Do we EVER really figure it all out? I learn something new every.single.day.
I also write about my faith. My relationship with Christ is the center from which I build everything else.
My life is so far from what I envisioned.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I hope you find inspiration here. It probably won’t be in the form of some fabulous project, or a ‘pin-worthy’ recipe, and definitely not tips for raising model children. But at the very least, I hope you’re able to find a place to connect and share on this crazy, beautiful journey through life, parenthood, and everything in between.
